Türkiye's global share of the arms trade increased in the period 2018-2022, by 0.5%. Türkiye’s exports comprise 1.1% of all global arms exports.
Its top three customers are Qatar, UAE and Oman. The three countries’ imports make up half of Türkiye's total arms sales.
The USA’s arms exports to its NATO ally Türkiye were at a low level in 2018–22 as a result of increasingly strained bilateral relations. Türkiye was the 27th largest recipient of US arms in 2018–22, down from 7th largest in 2013–17.
