Türkiye’s exports rose 10.4% year-on-year to $19.4 billion in January 2023 while imports stood at $33.7 billion in the same month. Imports increased due to energy and gold imports.
Trade Minister Mehmet Muş said energy imports increased by 238% and gold imports rose 733% to stand at $8.8 billion and $5.1 billion respectively.
Year-on-year trade deficit increased 37% to $14.3 billion.
